Operators must be experts with computer hardware and software programs to include network operating systems. Interactive On-Net Operators are involved in all facets of planning and conducting cyber operations. This NMOS requires advanced cyber operations training. The 1712 NMOS will be created as outlined in paragraphs 4.a-4.g.Ĥ.a. Utilizing these skills to enumerate friendly environments, these operators search for and respond to targeted adversary presence within USMC cyber enabled capabilities.Ĥ. Familiar with digital network concepts and analytical techniques that support tactical cyber operations. The Cyber Warfare Operator further provides the means to emulate tactics, techniques, and procedures used by known adversaries to identify unmitigated vulnerabilities through simulated exploitation or attacks on Department of Defense information systems. They integrate effects into warfighting functions in order to support tactical, operational, and strategic objectives. They employ offensive and defensive cyber tools, tactics, techniques, and procedures. The Cyberspace Warfare Operator is familiar with all aspects of maneuver operations. MOS 1721, Cyber Warfare Operator (GySgt – LCpl) PMOS, DC Iģ.b. The 1721 PMOS will be updated to reflect the changes as outlined in paragraphs 3.a-3.b.ģ.a. The 1711 PMOS entry and all mentions of the 1711 PMOS will be deleted from Reference (A).ģ. The following changes are approved in coordination with Training and Education Command (TECOM).Ģ. The new MOS structure will be updated in Reference (A) and will include the deletion of the 1711 Primary Military Occupational Specialty (PMOS), the updating of the 1721 PMOS, and the creation of the 1712, 1713, 1722, and 1723 Necessary MOSs (NMOS). As a result of the analysis, the working group realigned skillsets and Military Occupational Specialty (MOS) structure to streamline the force generation process and improve the sustainability of the cyberspace workforce.
